      Bổ sung chức năng, nhiệm vụ về thông tin, báo chí và xuất bản: Thực hiện chủ trương sắp xếp, tổ chức lại các cơ quan chuyên môn, từ ngày 01/3/2025, Sở Văn hóa, Thể thao và Du lịch được bổ sung chức năng, nhiệm vụ và tổ chức bộ phận thực hiện công tác thông tin, báo chí và xuất bản.

      Hợp nhất Sở Văn hóa, Thể thao và Du lịch tỉnh Đồng Nai và Sở Văn hóa, Thể thao và Du lịch tỉnh Bình Phước: Thực hiện chủ trương sắp xếp đơn vị hành chính cấp tỉnh, từ ngày 01/7/2025, Sở Văn hóa, Thể thao và Du lịch tỉnh Đồng Nai và Sở Văn hóa, Thể thao và Du lịch tỉnh Bình Phước được hợp nhất, hình thành Sở Văn hóa, Thể thao và Du lịch tỉnh Đồng Nai (mới), thực hiện chức năng tham mưu, giúp Ủy ban nhân dân tỉnh quản lý nhà nước về văn hóa, thể thao, du lịch và các lĩnh vực được giao.

     Sở Văn hóa, Thể thao và Du lịch thành phố Đồng Nai: Thực hiện Nghị quyết số 30/2026/QH16 của Quốc hội về việc thành lập thành phố Đồng Nai, từ ngày 30/4/2026, Sở Văn hóa, Thể thao và Du lịch tỉnh Đồng Nai được kiện toàn, đổi tên thành Sở Văn hóa, Thể thao và Du lịch thành phố Đồng Nai, tiếp tục thực hiện chức năng tham mưu, giúp Ủy ban nhân dân thành phố Đồng Nai quản lý nhà nước về các lĩnh vực thuộc phạm vi quản lý của Sở.

HISTORY OF THE ESTABLISHMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF CULTURE, SPORTS AND TOURISM OF DONG NAI

In early 1976, the Dong Nai Culture and Information Service was established on the basis of the Propaganda and Training Board of the Southeast Region. It was subsequently renamed the Dong Nai Department of Culture and Information.

In December 1990, the Dong Nai Department of Culture and Information and the Dong Nai Department of Physical Education and Sports were merged to form the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Information and Sports under Decision No. 1694/QĐ.UBT of the People’s Committee of Dong Nai Province.

In March 2001, the Dong Nai Department of Culture and Information was separated from the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Information and Sports under Decision No. 833/2001/QĐ.UBT of the People’s Committee of Dong Nai Province.

Pursuant to Decision No. 986/QĐ-UBND dated March 28, 2008, of the People’s Committee of Dong Nai Province, the Department of Physical Education and Sports was merged with the Department of Culture and Information to establish the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Consolidation Period (2025–present)

Addition of functions and duties relating to information, press and publishing: In accordance with the policy on restructuring and reorganizing specialized agencies, from March 1, 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism was assigned additional functions and duties and established a unit responsible for information, press and publishing activities.

Merger of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai Province and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Phuoc Province: In accordance with the policy on rearranging provincial-level administrative units, from July 1, 2025, the two departments were merged to establish the new Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai Province, which performed the function of advising and assisting the provincial People’s Committee in state management of culture, sports, tourism and other assigned fields.

Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai City: Pursuant to Resolution No. 30/2026/QH16 of the National Assembly on the establishment of Dong Nai City, from April 30, 2026, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai Province was reorganized and renamed the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai City. The Department continues to advise and assist the People’s Committee of Dong Nai City in performing state management functions in the fields under its management.
